Vero were appointed to undertake the re-design of a public/private realm waterfront on an existing mixed use and residential development in Rabat aimed at creating a ‘sample’ leisure zone for the sales relaunch.

The sample comprised a 300m stretch of waterfront and a small pocket park to an existing development where the current treatment comprised a 10m wide promenade of concrete unit paving and linear line of lighting poles.

VERO were commissioned to create a dynamic water front environment which contained leisure elements reflective of the development ethos and aspiration. A dynamic typology was developed for the pedestrian zone which broke the linear nature of the former treatment whilst still maintaining a 5m clear EVA route and zones for seating, F&B, play and recreation.
