VERO were commissioned to prepare design proposals for an extension to the FS and KS1 block to be located within the existing campus of Sharjah English Speaking School.

The existing school grounds formed the basis of the landscape concept for the proposed extension. The gardens and school grounds are organic in nature and have a ‘homely and informal’ feel, characterised by informal desert themed planting, organic flowing pathways and intimate areas to be discovered with a large campus environment.

The scale of the existing spaces are appropriate to the function and allow for both large events and smaller class scaled gatherings. Proposed grounds continue the informal and organic language with designed play spaces situated within a natural landscape setting, nature play is the theme for these spaces with natural play equipment set within trees and dense planting, timber log edgings and bark chip surfaces and pathways.
