Vero were appointed by DSA to undertake the full landscape design for the Marriott Beach Resort which occupies a plot with an area of 90,000m2. The resort boasts an expansive landscape with over 1,200m2 of swimming pools spread across multiple levels, numerous garden areas, recreation zones and external dining spaces.

The concept for the landscape derives from the naturalistic desert landscape that is common throughout RAK. A wadi feature is used in all landscape areas to form a natural separation between the various zones and also help to resolve the significant level change from the hotel building to the beach.

A key challenge for the project was to deliver a high quality five-star resort experience within a very tight budget, Vero worked very closely with the Architects, Client and Cost Consultant to ensure the project was successfully delivered within budget.
